Logo Configuration

Logo Configuration lets you find a company logo for each customer account from your contact data, choose or upload the image you want, and add a logo URL column to your datasets—so you can show that logo in the player header bar, on slides, and in personalized content.

This is not the same as your own brand logo under Project Settings or Customization. That upload is your logo on every presentation. Logo Configuration is each customer account’s company logo, based on their email or domain.

What you can do:

  • Map a contact dataset and company column (email or website/domain)
  • Fetch Logos automatically, then pick the best preview or upload your own
  • Keep one organization-wide Company Logos list (domain → logo URL)
  • Add logo_url column to contacts (new dataset or an advanced query dataset)
  • Show the customer account’s logo in the player header via Customer Account Logo

Access: Open a project → click the project name in the breadcrumb (workflow menu) → Logos (directly below Documents).

The page is split: configuration and actions on the left, company results on the right.

Your contact dataset must have one row per person and at least one column Cast can use for the company:

  • Work email (for example email, contact-email) — Cast uses the domain after @
  • Company website or domain (for example domain, website, url) — Cast uses that domain or URL

If that column is missing, add it to your contact dataset first. Then on the Logos page, select the same dataset you use for contacts and campaigns.

On the left, expand Configuration:

  1. Dataset — Select your contact dataset.
  2. Company column — Select the email or domain/website column. On first setup, Cast may badge a column as Recommended.
  3. Save — Saves the mapping only. Saving does not fetch logos. Changing the dataset or column does not fetch until you use Fetch Logos.

Expand Fetch Logos after you save Configuration.

Starting a fetch:

  • Fetch Logos — First run for this configuration
  • Fetch Logos Again — After a previous completed or cancelled run
  • Retry Fetch — When the entire run failed (error banner on the page)
  • Force Refetch — Optional checkbox before Fetch Logos Again; ignores cached lookups for all domains in that run
  • Cancel — Stops the run; logos already found are kept

A progress bar and status show queued, done, failed, and skipped counts while a run is in progress.

The results table on the right lists one row per company domain (several contacts at the same company appear as one row).

Finding rows:

  • Search by domain name
  • Filter by status (queued, processing, done, failed, skipped, cancelled)
  • Click a domain to open that company’s website

Choosing a logo:

  • Cast may show more than one preview per row (from different sources)
  • Click a preview to select it; click again to clear
  • Click a different preview to change the logo—your latest choice is saved for that domain across your organization

Upload your own logo:

  1. On the row, click Upload a logo.
  2. Select an image file and upload.
  3. In the dialog, click Attach to use it for that company.
  4. To remove it, click Delete manually uploaded logo (Cast falls back to an automatic pick when possible).

You can also Copy logo URL or Retry a single domain (row retry bypasses the cache for that domain only).

Note: A skipped row (for example personal email) is normal. One row failed is not the same as a failed run for the whole fetch.

Expand Use Logos in a Dataset on the left.

Cast maintains a single Company Logos dataset for your organization (company domain and logo URL). When you pick, upload, or clear a logo on the Logos page, that list updates immediately. Every project in your org shares it.

Add logo_url column:

  • Spreadsheet, CSV, Google Sheet, or similar — Creates a new dataset (for example My contacts + Logos) with all contact columns plus logo_url. Use that dataset where you need logos on each row.
  • Advanced query (Universal Query) — Adds logo_url to the same dataset by extending its query. Use Remove logo_url to undo. Use Rewrite query and run if the join no longer works after SQL edits.

After you change a logo preview, refresh the contacts-with-logos dataset so rows pick up the new URLs.

A common use is the player header bar at the top of the presentation:

  • Project logo — Usually your company’s logo (upload under Player Header Bar in Project Settings)
  • Customer account logo — The viewer’s company logo, personalized per contact

Steps:

  1. Complete Add logo_url column so each contact row has a logo URL.
  2. Go to Project Settings → Player Header Bar.
  3. Turn on Customer Account Logo and bind it to that URL (field, snippet, or Liquid for the current contact).
  4. Save and preview with different contacts.
  • Logo in the header did not update — Refresh your contacts + logos dataset, then preview again.
  • No logo for one company — Try another preview, upload an image, or use row Retry.
  • Many skipped rows — Often personal or disposable email domains.
  • Whole fetch failed — Use Retry Fetch; contact support@cast.app if it continues.
